Home Made Designs (HMD) - frequently asked questions

1. Will HMD only designs sites from scratch?
   HMD are happy to build a wholly new site or to take over an existing site (subject to it being possible to do so).
    
2. Will HMD host my site?
   HMD are not a hosting service but are happy to arrange hosting via third parties: HMD do not charge for this service and simply pass on the actual cost as charged by the hosting service. HMD are happy to advise on the nature and level of hosting appropriate to your site.
    
3. Will my existing site be offline whilst HMD develop and publish my new site?
   HMD will never disrupt any existing web presence you may have whilst developing your new site. When HMD are commissioned to produce a website we will immediately create you a sub-domain on our own web site where the new site will be published in preview mode. Only once you, the client, tell us you are satisfied with the product and instruct us to publish will the site be uploaded to your domain; usually this means the existing site will effectively be overwritten.
   ALL PREVIEW SITES ARE DELETED ONCE SITES GO LIVE.
    
4. How much do HMD charge?
   HMD have two pricing structures available. At your choice we will either agree a fixed price at the point at which you commission us or we will invoice you based on our current hourly rate.
